Preschool Program

There is a pretty funny story about that tutu. A mom from their preschool class came in with it to give to another mom. When Lily saw it she grabbed at it and said "my princess dress" Once it was pried from her tiny hands I explained it was not hers and we would have to get hers when we got home. The mom replied and said she makes them as a business and would bring one for Lily to wear in the program..... how sweet is that. Of course Lily is a princess aren't all little girls?

The one picture I have of Preston on stage. He was on the opposite end of Lily where I couldn't see him.

Lily is being sweet to the little girl checking out her tutu.
The things kids will do for suckers! Like stand still.

Potty Training

No not yet...... well no not really.......... not at all! HAHA I have been so scared to potty train. You see when Ashley was 2-3 years old she was in daycare. Daycare did all the hard work, I just had to reinforce it when she was home on the weekends with me. With the twins I have no idea what I am doing. The other day we will say May 11th but really I can't remember, my way of not dealing with potty training, lol. Anyway the other day Lily was eating breakfast and had the I gotta poop face. So I asked her "Lily did you poop" She replies "nope no poop in dhere" pointing to her diaper. I then asked "do you need to poop?" She shakes her head and replies "yes" So we go to the bathroom I put her on the potty and she poops! I was so excited I think I scared her because she hasn't done it since. Preston of course comes in to see what all the excitement is about and says he wants to poop too. he then sits on the potty, gets up in 2 seconds, then exclaims he needs to turn on the potty (flush the toilet) "all done" he says. That was our short lived potty excitement. I guess I will keep asking if they need to go potty......... I am sure they won't go to kindergarten in diapers......... one an only hope right?
Here is a picture of Preston after he "went potty, and turned the toilet on" he had to wash his hands but didn't want to take the time to get dressed first.

A few pics

Things have settled down around here. We are in a routine sort of. The kids love their school. Preston and Lily go on Tuesdays and Thursdays to a little preschool close by. It is so nice to have 10 hours a weeks to myself with no kids. I get so much done. I find that I have my lists and am so quick to go in and out of a store when usually I would love to just take my time and browse. Ashley applied and got a lifeguard position for our neighborhood pool. She can't start until she has completed the 32 hours of training. She did half last weekend and will do the other half this weekend. It will be so good for her to have a job and to be able to see why it's called work. You actually have to work and be somewhere on time and you get rewarded with a pay check. I kept with the theme I had in Newfoundland and still do my playgroups on Wednesdays it's just with different moms. We have been planning to go to the zoo but it's been hot and we have 2 moms that aren't going to do will in the heat. One is 7 months pregnant and the other has 3 month old twins. Maybe the children's museum is in our future. :) Let me see what else is going on....... I am counting down the days until my girls weekend away. Most the girls on my dad's side of the family are going to New Braunfels to go toobing on the river. To be honest I don't care what we do I am just happy to get away to recharge. Aaron has been coming home on a regular basis although he is still working in Newfoundland he should be in Calgary soon. He has been home since last Friday, when he leaves it will take a few days to readjust to him being gone.
So that's about it for us. Here are a few pictures taken recently.

Our weekend at the farm, ranch, country

It's been called many things over the years but in our family when you say we are going to the farm, ranch or country we all know what you mean. We had a fabulous weekend at our family ranch. This ranch has been owned by my grandparents for 30 years. A 110 acres of hills, grass, trees, wild life, cows and fresh air. I love going up there and love it even more that my kids get to go up and make precious memories like I did when I was growing up. We headed out for the 2 hour drive right after Ashley got out of school Friday. Just the drive up there is peaceful..... even with the crying 2 year olds in the back seat. My brother and his 2 kids met us there and my dad has been there for a few weeks helping out my grandparents. My grandparents have lived on the farm for, I think, 30 years but in the past few years have needed some help from the family to maintain the land and house. My grandmother fell and broke her hip about 3 weeks ago but has made a great recovery from her injuries. I hope I am that strong at 88 years old. So here are some pictures of our weekend. Sorry for the picture overload, I couldn't decide on any favorites.
