Slime Time

While we were at the farm for the Fourth of July uncle Chris let the kids make slime. It was so cool. You can seriously tell he is an engineer. The kids thought it was so cool and fun. Check out these pics.

Happy 4th of July-Pics

We had a fun filled weekend in small town, TX at the farm where my grandparents live. Picture a small town, parade with the local high school cheerleaders and boy scout troop along with turkey legs and vendors booth. That is Centerville. We hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th. I know we did. We love going every year to the festival in the small town my grandparents live in. They even had turtle races and a dog show this year. Wow we are moving into the big time now, haha.

Merry Christmas

Santa was very good to our family. We finished our gift opening and now we are enjoying the company of family while we cook our cajun Christmas dinner. YUM fried turkey, pork stew, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, peas and cheese. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas, from our family.

Trick or Treat

We had a blast trick or treating last night. Preston and Lily got the hang of it after about the 4th house. They started knocking on doors, saying trick or treat and thank you after they got their candy. We lasted a lot longer than I expected we would. We went down about 3 streets then headed back home to enjoy our candy.

I could never have imagined that I would be so blessed. I am thankful for each day I have with my kids. At 2 years old Preston and Lily keep me on my feet, literally. I don't sit down to relax until they go to bed. This age is so much fun I love watching their imagination blossom. Lily can sing the ABC song and count to 10. My favorite is when she gets to lmnop and just moves her tongue saying lalala p q r s t..... Preston can count to about 5 and sing the tune of the ABC song.

We are about to get ready to go trick or treating I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween.

Getting ready for Halloween

I have always loved Halloween. Probably because fall is my favorite time of year. I love all the colors of the leaves and the changing of the seasons. A couple of days ago I tried the babies Halloween costumes on. Now I don't spend a whole lot of money on Halloween. I don't care if the match I just want them to dress up and look cute. Lily is going to wear a bee costume that was cousin Presley's last year. We will have to put some long sleeves and leggings underneath it since it will probably be freezing or snowing on Halloween. Preston is going to be a dragon that I got from a friend of mine here.

Happy Mother's Day

To all the mom's and the ladies who are dreaming of being mom's. This is your day! I hope you get a chance to relax. I know I sure did, yesterday. I woke up bright and early and headed to the spa at 9 am. I got a massage, a pedicure, manicure and my eyebrows waxed. I feel like a new mommy. I got home just in time for Aaron to put the babies down for a nap. While they napped I did some scrap booking. Aaron boiled some lobster, you can see pics below. It was our first time boiling lobster at home and I must say they were really good. It's something we probably won't be getting at a restaurant anymore. After the babies went to bed Ashley and I went to Starbucks and to see the new X Men movie.
This morning Aaron got the babies up and was attempting to make me breakfast in bed but at 9 am I had to get up. It's nice sleeping in but I feel like I am wasting my day. We went to the bookstore and to eat lunch. I have been scrapping since we got home. I have so many layouts I want to get done and so many more pictures to go through that I could probably scrap everyday and still not be caught up.
What a great family I have and what a great mother's day/weekend I have had.

What a trip

And it's not over yet. We have had a few road trips mixed in with our Christmas vacation. We got home from Louisiana on the Monday after Christmas then headed to the family farm in Centerville, Tx on New Year's Eve to ring in the new year with the grandparents. We figured our days of ringing in the new year drunk then suffering with a hangover the next day are over. We had a nice quiet night with very little fan fare. We did some fishing, relaxing, had a bon fire and exploring with the kids before heading back to Houston today. Tomorrow we have my niece's 3rd birthday party then Sunday we head home. As much as I am not looking forward to going back to Canada to the snow and slush it will be nice to get back to normal. Or as much normal as we are used to.

Giving thanks today

I am so thankful for lots of things not only today but every day of the year. I feel like I am the most blessed person in the whole world.

Here are a few things I am thankful for:
1. My family. I wish everyone had the family I have. We really are a tight knit group and I think that has helped me become the person I am today. I only hope my kids will turn out the same way.
2. My husband who never asks where's dinner or do I have any clean underwear (he knows to check the dryer)
3. My kids who brighten my each and every day.
4. Being able to give back.
5. Getting to spend another year with my grandparents.
6. My dad's strength that helps him recover from his heart surgery.
7. Modern technology that helps us stay in touch with friends and family.
8. The friends we have made in Newfoundland for opening their arms to us.
9. Ashley's great personality that helps her fit right in.
10. Baby Einstein and playrooms
11. My creativity that I get from my mom.
12. Hot tea, yes I said it HOT tea. It is something you get used to when it's cold outside.
13. Lily's laugh, she has a way of making you forget all about your moment of stress with just her laugh.
14. Preston's smile, anytime you look at him he just gives you a smile that lights up his whole face.
15. Ashley's sincerity, she is such a sweet and caring person

Halloween happenings

We drove to a neighborhood to go trick or treating but when we got there it was so windy we decided to just come home and hang out in the garage to pass out candy. We only got about 5 trick or treater's. We put the babies to bed and relaxed. Ashley went trick or treating with her friends. Yea she is one of those teenagers you see and think "Aren't you too old" She was dressed up though.

Happy Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We plan to go trick or treating for a little bit and then come home to give out candy. It's raining now but I hope it stops or else we aren't going anywhere.

Happy Birthday Ashley

I know this is a day late but it would have been hard for me to write yesterday. My mom asked me if I did anything special for Ashley's birthday? I thought to myself no we celebrated last week in Texas (cake, presents, family & friends). I think that I didn't want to make a big deal of the day because it is so hard for me to realize my first born, my baby girl, my everything, is 14. I am so grateful that she forgives me for not making a big deal about it. Today though I went and bought her a bunch of make up and tried to buy her forgiveness. I had plans to decorate her room, get her a cake and sing happy birthday but I was selfish and did none of this. We did tell her happy birthday we didn't totally think it was just another day.
Thank you Ashley for forgiving your mother for being so selfish..... I love you!

Fall fun

We took the kids to the park yesterday in hopes to get a decent family photo. I wanted something with some fall colors in the back ground. I know with 3 kids taking a decent family photo is asking ALOT. We pulled it off though. Even though the babies aren't exactly looking at the camera and smiling and our eyes are practically closed because the sun is so bright, I don't care. I uploaded my pic to Costco and will have a new family pic for my wall. Next......... Christmas cards, those are always fun! I want to wait until we get some snow on the ground.

Another year has come and gone. I can't believe my Ash is 14. The babies yea I can believe they are 1 but Ash 14 where did 14 years go? I don't even feel that old. In a year she will be in high school, then a few years she will be driving, then off to college. Tear!
