Is it wrong for me to laugh at..........

So today we went to the mall after Ashley got out of school to get her a new dress for a school dance and pick up some new drinking glasses (since we have noticed quit a few are cracked lately) While we were checking out the babies were getting pretty restless since I didn't get the glasses that actually had a tag we had to wait a bit longer for a price check. So anyway Preston kept putting his finger in and out of Lily's mouth pulling it back quickly and then they would both giggle. This went on a few minutes. Seeing this I could tell it was not going to end well. I said Preston you better stop Lily is going to bite you. Right then he started screaming......... as my face turns red and I start sweating we quickly get our bags and head for the door. He stops crying and proceeds to DO IT AGAIN!!!! The poor baby I couldn't help but laugh.

Q & A Wednesday!

Wow it's Wednesday already? This week has been flying by. Maybe it's because it's been so nice here we have been outside most of the week.
Ask away and come back on Friday for Follow up Friday!

Silent Sunday!!

Yes Lily has only socks on. When we left the house she had on 1 shoe. I thought Aaron grabbed the other and he thought I did. He actually made it out to the garage with it but it must have fallen out of the car because we found it on the ground when we returned home. So that is why Lily has on socks at the playground, too funny!

Follow up Friday!

Annie asked: What kinds of exercises do you do?(hope you use the correct words, remember that english is not my native language, but I understand a lot of it).
ANSWER: I only work out at the gym. I have a wonderful husband who bought me the Wii Fit for Christmas. Unfortunately I have only used it once, it's in the basement and when I go down there all I want to do is scrap. At the gym I do yoga or some other types of classes, a 20 min circuit training and one of the cardio routines on a elliptical or treadmill. Now if I could only watch what I eat I bet I might be able to lose weight.

Joe asked: Our province gets alot of publicity each year on the seal hunt. What is your opinion on the seal hunt?
ANSWER: I think that if a hunt is conducted in a humane way and for food then it's ok. It's my understanding that baby seals can no longer be hunted due to government regulations. Humans have been hunting for thousands of years in order to survive. I don't think the seal hunt is any different than a deer hunt, moose hunt, or fishing. I have never seen protesters outside a deer lease in Texas protesting the start of deer season.

The Mommy Diaries asked: Since you've already had a girl with Ashley, what is your favorite part about having a boy?
ANSWER: I am so glad someone asked this because lately I have been thinking about this. I am one of those mom's who would have had 5 girls and tried again for a 6th just to get a boy. I think every mom needs a son. With that being said my favorite part is how sensitive he is. I know it may not last but he will just come up and give hugs for no reason. With Lily and Ashley (not sure if it's s girl thing) they are just on the go and don't want to stop. I also notice that Preston is so cautious. For example if the basement door is unlocked he will open the door and stand at the top, Lily opens the door and proceeds to climb head first down the stairs.

Mama Jean asked: Do you think the twins are seperating from each other, seeing the pictures of Lily feeding her baby and Preston looking so big boy in his outfits?
ANSWER: No Way!!! They go back and forth. Lily will play with trucks and Preston will try on her dress up shoes. They still follow each other around everywhere. HEHE Right now they are at the stage where they are testing each other and us. Lately we have had alot of snatching toys from one to another. I have to tell Lily that "Preston was playing with that and she needs to give it back". It's usually Lily who starts it, but she will give it back then drop to the floor crying so I say "Preston do you wanna give Lily a turn" and he will give it to her.
These next 6 months will be lots of learning to share, playing nice and testing Aaron and I. I can already tell that they know what is naughty and nice. Preston opens the trash can then looks up and shakes his head no no. I can't help but think "if you know it's a no no then why are you doing it" or right before they drop their forks on the ground while eating they shake their head no no. Once again then why are you doing it?

I elaborated on alot of answers. I feel it gives me the chance to journal our daily life and hold onto these memories.

Tea Party

On Sunday we went to Natalie's 3rd birthday. It was just Lily and I because it was a tea party for girls only. I can not tell you how weird it was having just one kid in tow. The invitation requested the girls bring their dress up clothes and baby dolls. I decided to dress Lily in her dress up outfit so Aaron could take pictures before we left. She loves dressing up! Her outfit is from our niece Presley's first Halloween.

Just look at those pig tails, she even kept them in the whole day.
Even Preston got in on the dressing up fun!!!

A day of flying

When our friends Jenn and Kevin got here, Aaron and Kevin started talking about renting a plane. Since Kevin is a pilot for a living I thought who better to go flying with then him.  The only thing holding them back from making the 3 hour drive to Gander (the only place on the island that rents planes) was the weather. So Wednesday they checked the weather and since Jenn and Kevin were scheduled to leave Thur they pushed their trip home back to see if the weather was going to be good enough to fly. Well on Friday it was. The boys left in the morning and made it to the airport in Gander about 2 pm. They were able to take a few pictures but not too many since Kevin was busy flying the plane and Aaron was busy learning to be co pilot. Jenn and Kevin are already talking about their next trip up, next time the guys are talking about renting the plane and bringing it back to St John's for the night. I am not a big fan of flying in the small planes but I can watch the kids while Kevin, Jenn and Aaron go up.

Follow up Friday

Ethan, Zach and Emma's mom asked: Have you ever thought about using cloth diapers?

Answer: Only for about 5 mins.......... no really.  It's a great concept but not for me. I looked into it when we lived in Houston and there was a service available that would come pick up the old and bring them back nice and clean. I have a blog friend who has triplets and cloth diapers she has some great tips on here blog, here

Joe asked: Where is your most favorite place to eat in Newfoundland, so far?

Answer: Easy question since I love food! The Keg and Magnum & Steins.

Kim H asked: What was your favorite thing to share with Jenn and Kevin while they were visiting?
Answer: They are still here, they decided to extend their trip so the boys could rent a plane and fly around St John's. Since Jenn and I are 2 peas in a pod when it comes to scrapbooking I have loved scrapping with her.  Aaron has really enjoyed having someone to talk to about cameras/photography and guitar.

What is the one thing all your friends from Texas should experience from your new home? THE SCENERY!!!! This place is beautiful.

Mama Jean asked: Did you get to eat king crab legs with your friends?
Answer: We didn't make them at home because we couldn't find any for sale but we did go to the Keg Wednesday night and eat some.

Silent Sunday!

Happy Easter!

Since Thursday about midnight we have had such a blast with our friends and their little girl. Kiera is so funny and says the darnest things. She plays so well with the babies too. Yesterday the weather was perfect , blue clear skies, no wind and a temp of about 50. We woke up and went out to Cape Spear and Signal Hill to see the 3 ice bergs that were in the Atlantic. There was one that was huge and I wish there was a way to tell how big it was. It was sticking up way over the horizon so that's a pretty good indicator that is was a big one.  We went to Montana's for lunch before heading to the grocery store to pick up some stuff for dinner. Man it's nice having 4 adults go to the grocery store because we can all spread out and get the shopping done way faster. Oh oh we also picked up the stuff to make sushi. Jenn and Kevin have made sushi before but we have been a little nervous to try it. My sister gave Aaron and I a sushi set that includes dishes and a recipe book for Christmas. We plan to make the sushi tomorrow so I will let ya know how it turned out. Last night we cooked bacon wrapped scallops and cheese burgers on the grill, yum!!! Once dinner was over and all 3 kids were bathed we headed down to the basement. The boys picked on the guitars while the girls scrapped until 2 am!!!! The Easter Bunnies are pretty tired today.
This morning we went to church. We really enjoyed it. They are a fairly new church and very new to the current building they are in. The service started a little late but that was ok because we didn't get there until about 10 after anyway. The worship team played alot of the same songs that our family is used to hearing at our old church in Houston. The pastor was very sweet and really made us feel welcome. Now we are just here relaxing while the kids nap. We didn't get a chance to dye eggs yesterday so we are going to do that this afternoon while Aaron cooks seafood chowder. Tomorrow we are also going to try and find some of those king crab legs we cooked while Aaron's parent were here.
Jenn I am so glad you didn't start weight watchers before this trip, poor thing would have been exceeding her point limit for sure. Seriously we don't always eat like this.

I haven't uploaded our pics from yesterday so go to Jenn's blog to see them.

Joe asked: What is your favorite tv show & why?
Answer: I love Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy and Brothers & Sisters and American Idol. Can you tell I love tv? Mostly drama shows that I can not possibly relate to.

Ethan, Zach and Emma's mom asked: How are you going to celebrate Easter?
Answer: We are going to church with our family and friends then we will do an easter egg hunt at our house. We will most likely cook outside if the weather is nice.

Our Texas visitors!

I just received a call from my friend Jenn who is on her way to the airport with her husband and daughter to get on a plane to come see us. We are so excited to see them and to show them around this beautiful place we call home. I hope the weather stays nice. It is a little cloudy but it's not foggy, rainy or snowy so that's about all I can ask for. Stay tuned for all of our adventures while the Simpson's are here.

Random

Is it just me or is country getting blonder? You may or may not know I am a huge country music fan. I know, I know surprising since I am from Texas. Anyway. I was watching the ACM awards the other night and it seems like every female country singer has long flowing blonde locks. There isn't anything that separates them from the competition.
Just my 2 cents. I will leave you with another Easter 2008 pic.

Q & A WEDNESDAY!

Go ahead ask away! Get creative and ask anything. I will be back for Follow up Friday to answer all your questions.

Cute videos

Blogo

Now that we have moved to an iMac we discovered this really cool blog publisher. It's called Blogo. It's a publisher which means you open Blogo and type your post there and it updates your blog. Let me just tell you how nice it is to drag and drop pictures rather than open them one by one and only uploading 5 at at time. I am so glad to be married to a techy guy that help make my life easier when it comes to things like this.
We had a successful SPRING CLEANING weekend. We started on Saturday afternoon and cleaned the house top to bottom. Dusting everything in sight, moving and cleaning under furniture, and even putting the heavy winter coats away! Hopefully that wasn't a mistake but I am thinking winter is over. On Sunday we tackled the outside. Aaron washed my car and cleaned the inside. WOW thank god I got the heavy plastic floor mats made for winter, salt and slush. They were disgusting, full of dirt and salt, ewwww. We had a nice weekend and the weather was nice enough to play outside and get some much needed fresh air.
Remember how little the babies were last Easter. hehe

Our first iceberg sighting.

This one is cool you can see our house with all the pack ice in the background. Most of which is gone since we had some rain the past few days.
