There have been a few changes here at the funny farm Dauphine household. First off we are on day 3 of the 2 to 1 nap transition. Wow I had no idea it would be such a trying time. I sure hope it gets better. Advice I have received from friends and everything I have read on the internet, it will get better, it might take a week or two but it will........ whew! Today the babies ate lunch then went down for their nap at noon. They actually went to sleep around 12:45 and slept until 2:30. So not bad but right now they are pretty tired.
We have 2 walkers. Preston is nowhere near as good as Lily but over the next few weeks he will get the hang of it. He has only taken a few steps for now! I can not imagine how much fun we are going to have at the playground this summer now that they can climb and slide and get around more. Whooo hooo yay me I am sure things will start to get very interesting when they go in 2 different directions.
Another change is plates. YES plates. I am not sure if we are late or early on this one. We have always fed the babies in their chairs with the tray attached. We decided to do away with the tray and just pull them right up to the table. So do we give them a plate or just put the food on the table? We tried both and my table was suffering and I can only buy so many table toppers for my dear son to rip off as soon as he sees it. I even tried wax paper with tape. Tonight I gave them their food on a plate. It worked well. I think I do need to invest in plastic plates for them so my good ones don't get broken.
I am so excited that my friend Jenn, her husband Kevin and their daughter Kiera are making their plans to come visit us in April. It will be so exciting to have visitors and to show them our corner of the world. I can't wait.
Here are a few pictures and video from dinner tonight.
Yum lasagna, sweet potatoes and green beans. This plus a fruit cup, these kids can eat!

It looks like your little cuties are taking the plates in stride.
goodness, their plates are full... what are they eating these days? they are too cute
That's so great that they're eating from plates!
We are at 17 months and STILL taking 2 naps! I've attempted the transition to 1 nap several times and finally decided to just wait until we finished this seemingly endless move into our new house in Texas. We are moving in tomorrow so I guess we'll start working on it again!
