Big gym or Little Gym

I just had to blog about this. Seriously.......... The Little Gym what a great concept. I took the babies this morning for a free trial class. Their website talks about promoting developmental skills, motor skills and building confidence. I am all about those things for my kids BUT it was chaotic. I waited to go to Little Gym until the babies could walk. Why did I do that? Now I just have to chase them in 2 different directions. It was fun and the babies enjoyed it BUT it's expensive. I broke it down. There are 20 classes for us it would be $42.15 per class. PER CLASS! I am sorry but I am not sold on Little Gym. It's a great idea but on Thursday's I usually go to a playgroup with some of my Newfoundland mom's and their kids. I think I will stick to that plus it's free. I enjoy the adult conversation, I couldn't even chat with the mom's at the Little Gym, too much going on I guess. I have been going to the big gym where I take my kids to the playroom and I get an hour to myself while someone else plays with them and sings songs. I think I will stick to that too. I have no doubt that my kids get plenty of interaction with other kids. Between the playgroups and each other they should be fine.......... right?

the big gym is a much better deal! :D i think you're brave for even trying the little gym with two toddlers.

Exactly my thoughts! I was just looking at the Little Gym's website this morning. For the price, I think I'd rather continue season passes as local museums and the zoo and......hmmmm, maybe use the savings to join a big gym! Classes are just too expensive with two at the same time and I don't feel like I'll enjoy it because of the "chaos"!

I'm sure that the kids will be fine. :-) Ashley turned out great, and I'm sure she didn't go to Little Gym. Trust yourself... you're a great mother.

Great idea, you are the best teacher for their workouts, learning skills, and memory aid functions. Hang in there, just a life time to go.ha-ha,

You are the most important person in the babies lives right now. They cant even really "play" with other kids at this age.. They wont get that until they are 3. So dont stress about trying to "socialize" them. Ok.. off my soap box now.

Right. I agree, if you are not one of the fortunate few who have discovered a pot of gold at the end of their rainbow, stick to the more comfortable, and more affordable recreation. If you are happy and your kids are happy, who cares that you aren't shelling out top dollar for the pleasure? Keep doing what you're doing, I think you're doing great already.

Hey Staci,

Just wanted to say thanks for always leaving such nice comments on my blog! To answer your question I bought my paper organizer at Costco, I think it was $6o it was easy to put together, I really like the drawers...I think I may need another because I couldn't fit all my paper!

Your blog is great and your children are beautiful!!

Hugs,

Tammy
